Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

What Is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?

If you’ve lived through trauma or carry attachment wounds, you may find it difficult to fully relax or feel at home in your body. Even when you understand your experiences, something deeper can remain—tension, guardedness, or a quiet sense of unease.

At the same time, many people come to this work not because of a specific trauma, but because something just doesn’t feel quite right. You might feel stuck in patterns, disconnected from your body, chronically tense, or simply looking for a way to feel more grounded and at ease in yourself.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that works directly with your nervous system. Through light, steady, and respectful contact, it supports your body’s natural ability to settle, regulate, and repair.

Rather than trying to fix or change anything, this work creates the conditions for your system to begin to reorganize on its own. It offers your body something it may not have had enough of: a felt sense of safety, support, and connection.

How Can BCST Help You?

BCST can support a wide range of experiences—both physical and emotional—because it works with the underlying regulation of the nervous system.

People often seek out this work for:

  • Chronic stress or burnout

  • Anxiety or feeling constantly “on edge”

  • Difficulty relaxing or sleeping

  • Emotional overwhelm or reactivity

  • Feeling disconnected from your body or yourself

  • Persistent tension, pain, or holding patterns in the body

  • Headaches, jaw tension (TMJ), or neck and back discomfort

  • Recovery from injury, illness, or medical procedures

  • A desire to feel more grounded, present, and at ease

Some people come with clear challenges, while others come simply because they want to feel better in their body and in their life.

This work meets you wherever you are.

How Can BCST Support Healing?

From the very beginning of life, our nervous systems develop through connection. Safe, attuned contact helps us learn how to regulate, trust, and feel secure in ourselves and with others.

When the system becomes overwhelmed—through trauma, stress, illness, or life experiences—it can begin to organize around protection. This may show up as tension, hypervigilance, shutdown, or disconnection.

BCST offers a different kind of experience.

Through gentle, attuned touch and presence, your system is supported to:

  • Settle out of chronic activation or shutdown

  • Release held tension and protective patterns

  • Restore natural rhythms and balance in the body

  • Increase your capacity to feel and stay present

  • Support the body’s natural healing processes

  • Develop a deeper sense of trust and internal stability

This is not about forcing change. It’s about allowing your system to experience something new—at a pace it can actually integrate.

What Does a Session Look Like?

Sessions are quiet, slow, and guided by your system. We’ll begin by checking in, giving you space to share what’s been coming up for you, physically, emotionally, or internally. From there, we’ll orient to a resource or what feels supportive to you in this moment. From there, we will decide together if and when it feels right to transition to the table.

You’ll typically lie fully clothed on a comfortable table (or sit if that feels better). Touch is light and still, often at the head, spine, or feet.

During the session:

  • You are always in control

  • We move at your pace

  • You can ask to pause, adjust, or stop at any time

  • I will check in to support safety and collaboration

Sometimes the session is quiet. Other times, we may gently track what you’re noticing in your body. There’s no right way for it to unfold.

I’m Not Sure How I Feel About Touch—Is That Okay?

Absolutely. It’s very common to feel unsure, curious, or even uncomfortable—especially if touch has been confusing, absent, or overwhelming in the past.

Part of our work is creating space for those feelings to be explored safely and at your pace. Nothing is ever forced. Your comfort and agency always come first. While BCST includes touch, we can also work in ways that support your nervous system without physical contact if needed. This work is always collaborative, and you get to choose what feels right for you.

A Different Way of Healing

If you’ve ever felt stuck—like you understand your patterns but can’t quite shift them—or if your body feels tense, disconnected, or overwhelmed, this work may offer something different.

Healing doesn’t happen through force.

It happens when your system has the right conditions:

  • Safety

  • Time

  • Support

  • Attunement

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy helps create those conditions so your body can do what it already knows how to do—move toward balance, regulation, and connection.
